GCSAA

In the golf course industry, most golf course superintendents are members of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). This is a great way for all superintendents to further their careers and access unlimited information from the organization to better our clubs and facilities. Once a year there is a conference and trade show hosted around the country. Last year almost 20,000 members attended the classes and trade show.
The GCSAA is also broken down into local chapters, ours being the Peaks and Prairies Chapter. The P & P meets twice a year, spring and fall. This smaller chapter consists of close to 200 members, ranging from Montana to northern Colorado and everything in between.  Just returning from our latest meeting, Kyle and I were able to attend the offered classes and meet some new members of the Peaks and Prairies while socializing with old friends from surrounding courses. Ideas are constantly bounced off of one another while even discussing topics that seemed to be unsuccessful. The networking with our peers is sometimes the best education one can receive when attending these conferences.
